I have lived in Dundas, Ontario for most of my life and have visited the Collins Brewhouse many times. I use the term ‘visited’ as if I am visiting someone’s home for the simple reason, each and every member of the Collins Brewhouse staff welcomes visitors’ as if they are family.
It is a quaint pub and restaurant that adds more charm to the town of Dundas. The service is just as incredible as the food they serve. The southwest chicken wrap and chicken wings are super, I would without a doubt recommend these two dishes.
Also, I have attended staff parties in the basement of the Collins Brewhouse. The accommodations that they provide such as; pool tables, a personal served bar, a big screen television, and food served in a buffet self-serve format, provide customers with fun and entertaining memories.
As you can see in my review for the Collins Brewhouse, I would most definitely recommend this restaurant to all age groups. If you like good company, good food and a great atmosphere this is the restaurant to check out!
Normally I dine in the restaurant and had no problems. BUT TAKE OUT beware. They overcharged on our order both times I have had take out and both times no apologies instead I had to press the issue to show them their mistake (charged to many items). Was this on purpose????? Two times in a row seems too coincidental. NOT AGAIN!
The gourmet burger was amazing! All of us loved choosing what kind we'd get, and were so thrilled by the flavour explosions we experienced. THey accomodated our party size well, and all of us can't wait to go back for more great burgers on Monday nights (1/2 price burger night)
The atmosphere was nice and warm with the wood decor. Everything looked clean and new, which was nice.
When our party arrived, the restaurant was relatively empty. Our orders were taken rather quickly by a friendly, young waitress who was clearly new at her job. She was enthusiastic, but not overly so.
Sadly, our appetizers arrived about 32 minutes after we had ordered them. The spinach dip was bland and covered in cheddar cheese, even tasted sort of watery to me, and the bruschetta was, well... bruschetta, average at best.
I ordered chicken penne and was reminded of the spinach dip, it was also bland and covered in cheese. I understand that I ordered an Italian style dish in a Pub style restaurant, but I did have extremely low expectations. Barely a hint of garlic, a small amount of diced chicken bits, a totally bland tomato pesto sauce and a heap of cheese on top.
Girlfriend had a blackened chicken wrap which she didn't really care for and I can't remember what our friend's ordered but I know they didn't go crazy over it.
The impression Collin's Brewhouse left on me was. "Come to Collin's if you want below average food, just remember, you're on our time."

Current atmosphere/decor is the best it's been.
The food is only slightly above average.
Whats expected for a Pub/resturant.
The only really issue I have is the service. It wasn't bad , it was horrible. We waited easily 15-20 min at the bar money in hand while the staff sat stood around yakking with each other .Even after looking at us sitting there. When we finally did get service , the attitude was one of contempt that we were hasseling them by being there. Overall the staff acted as unfriendly and indifferent to customer service.
In reality it's a young staff with not enough maturity to know and appreciate customer service.
It's not hard to figure out: friendly welcoming attitude and good service = repeat customers !!!
